The Veil Project will make it possible for Susan
Stoderl’s mystical opera, The Veil of Forgetful-
ness, to begin its journey to enrich and enlighten
all who see it. Combined with an art installation by
Sarah Olson, the work has been selected to be
heard in two concert readings, with installation
prototype, in the prestigious Music at Holy Trinity
concert series, November 11 and 13, 2007 in New
York, City. Although we have received many
contributions, we still need $7,000 to pay for the
singers, instrumentalists, artist, installation costs,
and recording. Among the many who have
committed themselves to the project . . .

There’s Susan who is the composer-librettist
and
Sarah who paints, our installation artist.

There’s Margarette (
Chris & Mary) who cares for the sick,
Abbess Marie
(Lorene & Abby) is very quick.

Azenora
(Barrett & Maggie) is the illuminist,
While Brigid
(Amanda & Liz) is a copyist.

There’s Dympha
(Ilya & Adrienne) whose mind’s askew,
and Deborah
(played by Tracey C.) is the hidden Jew.

Regina
(Tracy B. & Gretchen) plays the devil’s role
And last but not least, Joan of Toulouse, played by
Nicole.
In addition to the concerts, the fully-staged
version of The Veil of Forgetfulness has
made it into the final rounds for acceptance
into The Edinburgh Festival of Peace and
Spirituality, a sister festival that runs
concurrently with the Edinburgh International
Music Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival in August 2008. Please watch for the
New York premiere of the fully-staged work
in 2008-2009.
