Today Meet Wahoo the Raven, a very Dapper Dude

From Sophia of the Bright Red Sneakers Series | Mission 1: All in a Day's Work

He looked around his home with pride. “My, my, my, I have an eye for décor.” The shelves held his prized shiny objects, such as an antique French parquetry and gilt clock. It was a surprise gift from Christie’s Auction House. As it was being unloaded, the antique had attached itself to his talons as he flew away. What was a gentleman raven to do if he liked pretty objects? Birds, no matter how dapper, could not stroll into Christie’s, plunk down a credit card, and tweet, “Deliver it, please!”
Time for his daily ablutions. Wahoo splashed in an engraved sterling silver bird bath, also a present from Christie’s. His three-inch beak was scrubbed and polished and his throat hackles fluffed. Next came choosing the proper attire. When he was young, scientists had tagged his wings. The tags were ugly, but he solved that problem. Raven Fashion 101: Remove tags. Insert earring. Voila! WingLinks™. Women all over Manhattan were clamoring to donate their earrings to his cause, and it was his gentlemanly duty to save earrings from being forced to attend one more boring tea party on a society maven’s earlobe.
He whistled as he preened in the mirror. “I believe my red, diamond-studded WingLinks are the ticket tonight.” Because the temperature was balmy, he hopped into a black pair of spats with tiny red buttons up the side and stepped onto his balcony RavenPort™.
